The Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QICN) provides a standard of competence for practice as a clinical neuropsychologist by helping candidates acquire the underpinning knowledge and demonstrate the essential skills required to work in this field.
Previously the route was available to chartered clinical and chartered educational psychologists, and its expansion is a recognition of the growing interest and importance of neuroscience and neuropsychology.
This is a fantastic opportunity for counselling psychologists to train at their own pace, develop new skills and gain recognition for specialist skills. It will also provide new career pathways and recognition for those interested in working in this area.
Clinical neuropsychology is a specialist area of psychology, concerned with the science of brain behaviour relationships, and their application to patients and problems in health and care settings.
A qualified clinical neuropsychologist will work with people of all ages who have been affected by a brain disorder.
