Dear members,

We hope this Bulletin finds you well. We're excited to share some important updates and opportunities with you.

Celebrating our new committee members

We are delighted to announce several new additions to our committee. These appointments strengthen our representation across various faculties and regions, helping us better serve our members' interests. Please join us in welcoming:

  • Richie Dooley - DCP Northern Ireland Rep
  • Maria Romero Rosado - DCP Holistic Faculty Rep
  • Phoebe Hodgkins - DCP Faculty for Psychosis and Complex Mental Health Rep
  • Zara Rahman - DCP Faculty for People with Intellectual Disabilities (FPID) Rep
  • Irene Gould and Jen Webb-Bowen - DCP Leadership and Management Reps
  • Maxime Levasseur - DCP HIV and Sexual Health Rep

 Working groups launch

We are pleased to announce the establishment of two new working groups that will enhance our ability to serve our members. The Member Engagement Working Group will focus on developing strategies to better connect with and support our community, while the Events Working Group will be dedicated to creating valuable networking and learning opportunities.

These groups represent an important step in our commitment to providing more targeted and effective support for our members. Both working groups are now getting underway, and we look forward to sharing their initiatives in the coming months.

New blog platform development

We're excited to share that we are in the process of developing a new blog post system. This platform will allow our members to share their experiences, insights, and knowledge with the wider pre-qualification community.

The system is currently in development, and we will provide more detailed updates as the project progresses. This initiative will create a valuable space for peer learning, professional development, and community building among aspiring and trainee clinical psychologists.

Take a look at the first blog in our series from Alexis Gott on ethical dilemmas you may encounter while working with people living with dementia.

Alternative Handbook 2025/2026

We are beginning to work on the Alternative Handbook 2025/2026 with an expectation the new survey will be circulated to Trainee's over the summer, giving us enough time to get this out for the next round of DClinPsy applications.

If you have any feedback on how to improve the Alternative Handbook we would love to hear from you. Please email: [email protected]

The latest Alternative Handbook 2024/2025 is available to read now.

We are currently planning an online event in March focused on DClinPsy interviews - if you are interested in developing your skills and hosting a future event or webinar with the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology Pre-Qualification Group check out our guide.
