Have your writing published on the Pre-Qualification Group blog

Are you an aspiring or trainee clinical psychologist with a passion for sharing your knowledge and experiences?

Do you have a burning desire to contribute to the field of clinical psychology? If so, we invite you to submit your blog posts to the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology Pre-Qualification Group website.

What we are looking for:

There are no set requirements for topics which can be published as blog posts. We welcome contributions which would be relevant to an aspiring and trainee clinical psychologist audience, for example:

  • Personal reflections from aspiring and trainee clinical psychologists
  • Application and interview tips for pre-qualification jobs (e.g. assistant psychologist, psychological wellbeing practitioner)
  • Insights from Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) professional training
  • Dissemination of psychological knowledge, theory, and practice
  • A day in the life of different mental health or research workplaces
  • Ethical and professional considerations in the profession 
  • Equality, diversity, and inclusion topics
  • Reviews of relevant books and articles
  • Global events and their relevance to clinical psychology 

Why submit?

  • Showcase your talent: Share your thoughts and reflections with a wide audience of peers working in mental health and research settings.
  • Gain valuable experience: Establish credibility and develop your writing, communication, and dissemination skills.
  • Network with peers: Connect with other aspiring or trainee clinical psychologists and build professional relationships.
  • Make a difference: Contribute to psychological knowledge and clinical practice for professionals and interested stakeholders.

How to submit:

To submit your blog post, please email the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology Pre-Qualification Group - [email protected] with the subject line "Blog Post Submission". Your submission should include:

  • A clear and concise title
  • A brief author bio
  • The main body of your article
  • Any relevant references or citations

Important considerations:

  • Originality: Please ensure the submission is original and not previously published elsewhere
  • Quality: Your blog post should be well-written, engaging, and free of errors
  • Length: There are no set word count requirements, but it may be helpful to aim for 500-1000 words
  • Citation: In line with up-to-date APA style citations and references guidelines
