Taking place between 4-8 November, and spanning four different stages, the Psychology Careers Festival aims to inspire the next generation, offering insights into the many different career paths within psychology.

The BPS is calling on members and member networks who are interested in offering insights into their career and specialisms, and who can offer invaluable career advice, to sign up as a speaker.

Returning for its third year, the festival offers an excellent opportunity to promote the profession while helping a new generation of psychologists advance their careers across traditional routes, new workforce roles and psychology-inspired occupations.

The festival features four stages:

  • Main Stage: Keynote speakers, impact of psychology careers
  • Pathways Stage: Occupations, advice on work experience
  • Inspirations Stage: Wide applications of psychology
  • Learning Stage: Professional development and workshops

Speakers in previous years have covered topics including their career journeys, pathways into their industry and specialism, practical skills sessions including CV writing and interview tips and presentations covering what a 'day in the life' of a psychologist entails.

Dr Tara Quinn Cirillo, Associate Fellow of the BPS and keynote speaker in 2023, said:

"Being a keynote speaker was a valued experience and an opportunity to show how psychology can be used in innovative ways. It was fantastic to reach an audience of prospective psychologists"

Members are also encouraged to put forward any of their own ideas for a speech, presentation, or skills session.

If you are interested, and think you have something to share with the next generation, please pitch your idea before 09 September.
