The post starts in August 2025 and would suit those interested in the strategic development of the publication, as well as hands-on content management.

Psychology of Sexualities Review (one-two issues a year) publishes a range of articles relating to advancing the understanding of gender, sexuality and relationship diversity issues with respect to psychological theory, knowledge and practice, and to facilitate the development of the psychology of gender, sexuality and relationship diversity in the UK and internationally.

It is available online via BPS Explore as either paid-for access for the public or free for GSRD Section members.

Kate Russell, chair of the GSRD Section, said:

"This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in journal editing and managing the review process. It could also help to build your profile as an active member of the section and to contribute to the wider gender, sexuality and relationship diversity field.

"We're looking for someone who is passionate about getting our research out there and supporting researchers at all stages of their career."

Duties include:
  • Assessing manuscript submissions, managing the peer review process and liaising with authors, reviewers and the BPS design and production team during the production process; and
  • Preparing and implementing the strategic editorial development plans in terms of content and approach, to build the status and visibility of the publication.

The editor will receive support from the BPS design and production team on the production process, the BPS communications team in getting news out to GSRDS members, and the BPS academic publications team for editorial development.

While previous experience of editing a publication is desirable, it is not essential.

This is a voluntary role.

How to apply:

If you are interested in applying for this position, email your CV and cover letter to [email protected] by 15 June 2025, using 'PSR editor application' in the subject header.
