Following an election process, Sarah Marsh takes up the chair's role for three years until 2028.

Sarah aims to represent section members and support broader society by promoting psychology in the political arena, in the UK and abroad.

She said:

"This is an important time for psychology in our society. In so many areas, like politics and the environment, the situation is becoming more extreme.

"We need to face up to misinformation and collaborate with politicians to support society to make better decisions to improve our environment and the quality of our lives."

Sarah added, as chair, she would listen to and involve members in projects "that we can collectively undertake for the greater good".

She is eager to engage in conversations with as many people as possible, "giving them a voice and working towards collective growth", with a particular focus on minority groups.

Sarah is a student, studying for a BSc in Psychology with the Open University.
