The Workforce and Training sub-committee is the DCP group that works on all issues relating to the workforce and training matters relating to clinical psychology.

Experts by experience have played a key role since it was established in 2016.

A vacancy has arisen, and we are very keen to recruit a new person to work with the main group and there are other opportunities for this person or others to work on key areas.

Key areas of work have been the future funding of Clinical training and the development of the National Assessors' system and now include the development of psychological new roles, psychology workforce surveys, job planning, employment practices and registration issues.

The meetings are lively engaging and cover much ground.

We are looking for a person who has:

  • Experience of NHS services as a user.
  • Previous involvement in clinical psychology training and/or services.
  • Interest in NHS policy and service developments.

The expectation is for the person to prepare for and attend the 5-6 meetings that are held each year with one of those meetings face to face with the rest by Zoom.

Additional meetings for particular pieces of work will be open for the person to either attend or to help with the recruitment of other Experts by Experience.

Renumeration is available using a BPS contract at £200-230 a day and the likely amount of time for the work is 5 days.
