Around 3,000 responses were received as part of the recent survey into the future of the British Psychological Society's own qualifications.

The survey was part of a consultation commissioned by the BPS, and conducted by Seymour Research Limited, an independent research company.

As well as the survey, focus groups and interviews are also being held to gather feedback.

Seymour Research Limited will be collating the survey feedback and reviewing evidence gathered from the consultation and market analysis to develop different options for the future of the qualifications. Financial models will be developed for each option, with the aim of submitting a final report to the Board of Trustees in July for a decision.

Professor Carol McGuinness, Chair of the BPS Qualifications Steering Group, said:

"Thank you to everyone who contributed to the survey, and to the those who are taking part in the focus groups and interviews. Your comments and involvement are much appreciated and will help inform the way forward."

The survey formed part of a call for evidence to support the qualifications consultation process covering the following stage 2 (level 8 / doctorate level) BPS qualifications: Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Educational Psychology (Scotland), Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Occupational Psychology, and Sport and Exercise Psychology.

It also covers the BPS-provided Coaching Psychology Professional Recognition Route to obtain Chartered Coaching Psychologist status.

It does not cover qualifications offered by other providers that are accredited by the BPS.
