This event will be an opportunity to hear from Pete Burkinshaw (Alcohol and Drug Treatment and Recovery Lead, Addiction and Inclusion Directorate, Office for Health Improvement and Disparities) about progress towards workforce targets for the psychological professions, linking to the Dame Carol Black Review and 2021 Drug Strategy.

Ben Hughes (Chair of the English Substance Use Commissioners Group and Head of Wellbeing and Public Health: Marginalised Groups, Essex County Council) will speak about how to engage with local authorities to demonstrate the value of psychological professions in drug & alcohol services in order to develop and sustain psychological posts.

There will also be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
