Social Care: re-discovery and a vision
- Social and behavioural
About
In this webinar, Dr John Newland examines the Health Care/Social Care dichotomy, and highlights how Social Care has become synonymous with Personal Care. He will explore the context that has created such a position and offer an alternative vision of Social Care which focuses on social network analysis, with a move from problematising individuals to creating communities of support. He will argue that “language matters”; language reveals attitudes and impacts on organisational behaviour. Language also impacts on resource allocation as exemplified by the use of the language of “Continuing Health Care”.
This Webinar will be of interest not only to Psychologists working in health and social care, but also to a range of social care providers, including care workers and family carers; managers of Social Care Teams, and those planning and providing care in this sector.
