Professor Colin DeYoung is a leading personality researcher and director of the DeYoung Personality Lab at the University of Minnesota.
His Cybernetic Big Five Theory attempts to provide a unifying theory for personality psychology, personality neuroscience, psychopathology and wellbeing.
Colin is also a critic of standard psychiatric diagnostic systems and has been part of the HiTOP project to develop a system for characterizing clinical presentations of mental health problems that is grounded in psychological science.
This talk explores the relationship between normal personality structure, self- and emotion- regulation, and mental health problems and clinical implications.
There will be opportunity for discussion afterwards.
