The South West Branch are hosting a diverse and exciting in-person panel exploring the topic of political polarization; the increasing polarity around many social and political issues that seems to have become an entrenched aspect of our social world.
Through a relational and critical lens, we aim to hold an interactive discussion exploring the wider context of this polarization, a deeper understanding of its diverse processes, and thinking together about change and its real-life implications.
Our panel has a kaleidoscope of perspectives and expertise that include:
- Community psychology and social change from Dr. Miles Thompson, a clinical psychologist and associate Professor in Psychology at UWE
- International Politics and neoliberalism from Dr. Rosa Maryon, a senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at UWE
- Education and critical pedagogy from Dr. Ioannis Costas Batlle, a senior lecturer in the department of Education at the University of Bath
- Civic and moral engagement from Dr. Helen Haste, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath
- Affect, politics and a psychoanalytic lens from Dr. Lita Crociani-Windland, a senior lecturer of sociology and psychosocial studies at UWE
