About

The session will provide an introduction to the research approach and community of practice called Naturalistic Decision Making (NDM), explore the NDM approach in the context of understanding and improving cognitive performance in complex defence people—technology systems, and provide some examples of applications of NDM models and methods to some of the most challenging defence problems from how to improve individual cognitive agility in VUCA environments to managing the loss of experience and expertise when personnel leave the service; from designing effective Headquarters to optimising human-machine teaming in future conflicts.
