About

The Faculty of Addictions committee is very pleased to host a conference after a few years' break. These are exciting times to work in addictions as we see increased investment after many fallow years, as well as the development of new services such as the regional NHS Gambling Harms services. The focus of this year's conference is understanding the current landscape in addictions work, as well as looking to the future.

There will be three streams to the conference: gambling, drugs & alcohol and partnership.

Darren McGarvey, author, musician and social commentator will be a keynote speaker for this year's conference. Darren's 'Addictions' programmes won the Factual Series category at the 2022 BAFTA Awards Scotland and his 2023 Radio 4 Reith Lecture 'Freedom from Want' explored themes of inequality and poverty.

This will be a hybrid event with limited tickets for in-person in London BPS offices and on-line tickets available. We warmly invite you to join us in person if you can.

Please note that only content from the main room of the conference will be streamed for virtual attendees. We apologise that there is no facility to stream content from the breakout room but presenter slides will be available where possible. Virtual attendees will be able to submit questions to presenters in the main room through the virtual Q&A function.

We are delighted to confirm this event is sponsored by Inclusion.
