About

Coaching is often dominated by talking. But if action speaks louder than words, why do so many coaches rely on discussion to bring about change? This interactive and experiential workshop will introduce coaches to 'chairwork': a collection of action-based, experiential methods that are uniquely powerful and memorable. Participants will have the opportunity to observe demonstrations of chairwork and experience chairwork themselves.

Learning outcomes: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the four conceptual 'pillars' on which chairwork is based.
  • Describe the key forms of chairwork used in coaching (e.g., interviews, dialogues, etc.)
  • Appreciate how chairwork is applied to common issues in coaching, including working with 'parts' of the self (e.g., the inner critic).
  • Compare how chairwork is delivered in face-to-face versus online coaching settings.
  • Experiment with chairwork in their own coaching practice.

This event will not be recorded due to the interactive nature of the workshop. Please note that it is preferred that participants have their cameras 'on'.
