Membership Assistant

We are seeking to appoint a Membership Assistant to join a friendly, busy and supportive Membership and Customer Services team at the British Psychological Society.

Post: Membership Assistant

Salary: Band 1, £25,040 per annum

Contract: Permanent/Full-time, 35 hours per week Monday to Friday

Location: Leicester / Hybrid

Closing Date: 15 March 2024, Midday

The team is responsible for processing and assessing applications for society membership, Registers, Directories, Networks, and other offerings, e.g. DBS checks.

You will maintain membership information and deliver a high level of efficiency and accuracy, with a focus on providing an excellent customer experience.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Assessing applications for membership, registers, directories, and networks as required
  • Maintaining records to ensure that member data is accurately captured and securely stored
  • Providing accurate and timely advice to members and enquirers on membership criteria and services to ensure a high quality of service is provided to members, applicants and the public
  • Contacting Society members/applicants to request information, payments, or to provide general information with regard to their status, in order to maintain effective customer service and good practice and ensure optimum member retention
  • Making suggestions for improvements to policy and processes to enhance the customer experience
  • Contributing to the promotion of membership and subscribership
