DFP Scotland - Virtual Networking Event
- Legal, criminological and forensic
For our April Networking event, we welcome Fiona Moran, a Registered Forensic Psychologist working for the Lucy Faithful Foundation- Scotland.
Fiona qualified as a Forensic Psychologist during her eight years working for the Scottish Prison Service, holding an OLR caseload, being involved in risk assessment and delivering intervention programmes, particularly enjoying her role as lead facilitator on the Moving Forward Making Changes programme for those who had committed sexual offences.
Fiona has also previously been employed by the New Zealand Corrections department, where she delivered intervention programmes in prison, probation and then finally in Arohata women's prison.
She has a background in the voluntary sector having worked for the Princes Trust, Open Secret (a survivor organisation) and Barnardo's as a Harmful Sexual Behaviour practitioner.
Fiona leads the clinical work of the Lucy Faithfull Foundation-Scotland (formerly STOP IT NOW Scotland) supporting the staff team, providing psychological intervention in complex cases and managing and co-delivering the Breaking the Links Programme (psychoeducational groupwork programme for individuals who have experienced trauma and have sexually offended).
Fiona has a special interest in the role that trauma plays in the pathway towards sexual offending and the role that intervention can have in helping individuals construct a narrative around their traumatic experiences and their offending.
She also designed and delivered bespoke trauma-informed training to all Lucy Faithfull Foundation UK-wide employees.
