About

This two day event is the Annual Scientific Meeting for the Section of Psychobiology and will include a themed symposium on 'Addiction and Substance Use', a keynote speaker in the pub, an afternoon of punting and two open communications sessions and a poster session.

There are bursaries available for undergraduates, postgraduates and early career researchers to apply for.

This promises to be a great opportunity for anyone interested in psychobiology to get together with like-minded psychologists to discuss psychobiological research and build collaborative networks.

Conference Dinner 

The conference dinner is an additional charge of £30. This will be held on Thursday 5th September.

Punting

The punting activity is an additional charge of £20. The punting activity will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 5th September.

How to register

Returning customers (members and non-members)

In order to register for the event you will need to sign in using your BPS website login details.

We have implemented a new Membership Database and if you haven't received your pre-registration email you will need to request your unique registration link.

Once you have the link, you can complete your registration on our portal.

Once you have registered on the portal please use your username and password to log in and register for the event.

If you have forgotten your login details, you can reset your username or password.

If you are not a returning customer, you will need to create your BPS account on the portal. The process is straightforward and takes just a few minutes.

Submissions

Key submission dates

  • May 2024: Online submission system opens
  • 27 June 2024: The deadline for Open Communications Papers, Poster and Symposium submissions.  This years Symposium is in the area of 'Addictions and Substance Use'.
  • 26 July 2024: Notification of submission outcomes for symposia presentations, individual papers and posters

Authors are strongly advised to register on the on-line submission system and begin preparing their submissions well in advance of the following deadlines

If you wish to submit more than one abstract, please complete individual submissions for each.
