Linda Anne Atterton
I have been qualified since 1993 and my career long interest is neuropsychology, in which I have ten years experience at Consultant level in an NHS post, before starting private practice in 2010. I see clients for rehabilitation and assessment as well as Expert Witness work. I also work as a part-time Consultant with a well-established case management company in Suffolk. My therapy background is CBT. I firmly believe the right therapeutic relationship and approach can facilitate change, reduce vulnerability, and prevent difficulties becoming chronic. I also believe psychological effects of brain injury are not given enough attention and yet are often more predictive of outcome than cognitive effects. Isolation for example is a huge problem. Preventing family burn-out is vital. I have taken Expert instructions in neurological conditions, e.g. head injury, anoxia, for about ten years and also see medico legal cases of trauma and PTSD. I work with adults age 16 and older.
