Practice Board seeks two new members

Are you a Practitioner Psychologist? The Practice Board is recruiting!

The Practice Board (PB) is seeking to recruit:

  • A Psychologist practising in Wales

The PB members act as a responsive source of expertise, discuss current issues in psychological practice and engage in regular horizon scanning to proactively identify gaps in practice knowledge.

We are seeking members currently in practice who, in addition to being a conduit between the member networks and the Board have a wider strategic interest in the development of the profession.

Read the role description here.

Expectations and Time Commitment

The Practice Board meets 3 times a year (usually February, June and October) – two of these meetings are virtual and last about 3 hours, one is face to face in London which is 11 am until 3pm (plus travel)

In preparation for the meetings, you will receive papers about 1-2 weeks before the meeting and some of these will need reading in order to provide comment/ approval. This involves 2-3 hours of reading.

You are also expected to provide an update on your area for each meeting and to report back to the relevant network committee on the work of the Board.

Occasionally the Board receives documents or similar for approval to consultation via e-mail between meetings, these would need reading and comments provided. There are usually 2-3 a year of these.

Finally, the Board can set up working groups or task and finish groups which PB members are encouraged to join if they are in a relevant area of interest.
