The BPS has will be launching its inaugural equality, diversity and inclusion strategic board in 2022.
We are now looking to appoint the board's first chair. This visionary and passionate leader will also hold the role of trustee for the BPS.
The placement of the new EDI board will mean that it will lead the way and work closely with our existing strategic boards in furthering equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights across the society, while also challenging bias and discrimination.
In leading the board, the chair will foster new partnerships, build on the work of the outgoing taskforce and engage with a range of stakeholders.
We would be interested in hearing from anyone with experience of sitting on strategic boards, experience and knowledge of EDI work and the vision and drive to shape its delivery across the society as a whole.

Promoting equity, diversity and inclusion is the job of all of us as BPS members. But we also need the right institutional organisation to support this work. So it is good to know that the chair of our EDI Board will be a BPS trustee, and can therefore directly engage the leadership and governance of the society in pursuing this agenda.
