Structure of the new Stage 2 Qualification in Occupational Psychology

27 November 2017

In October 2016, the Membership and Standards Board approved revised standards for stage 2 training in occupational psychology. Subsequently, a design team was formed to design a new ‘independent route’ stage 2 qualification around the revised standards. The Qualifications Board is now consulting on the proposed qualification.

Through this consultation, we would welcome feedback on the structure of the new Stage 2 qualification, including how it is delivered and assessed.  It will be of particular interest to stakeholders including DOP members, prospective candidates, supervisors, assessors and employers.

The consultation period will run from 28 November 2017 to 25 January 2018.

The consultation questionnaire includes a number of questions relating to the most significant changes to the qualification.  These questions are not exhaustive and we would also welcome your comments on any related issue.  Please provide reasons alongside your answers where possible.

The following documents have been provided as part of the consultation:

You can respond to this consultation by completing our online survey.

Once the consultation has closed, the responses will be considered and amendments made where appropriate.  The Qualifications Board will then seek approval from the Society’s Qualifications Committee, followed by the Health and Care Professions Council.

The aim is to launch the new qualification in January 2019.
