Stop fixing bodies, start fixing the world

18 February 2019

The causes and consequences of body image dissatisfaction and ways to promote body positivity will be discussed in a free public lecture in Bath on Tuesday 26 February.

It is organised by the South West of England branch of the British Psychological Society.

Dr Philippa Diedrichs from the University of the West of England, who will give the lecture, is an applied research psychologist. She has an international reputation for developing and evaluating evidence-based strategies to improve body image in community, education, corporate and policy settings.

Her talk will offer a snapshot of research into the causes, consequences and most effective strategies for improving body image, as well as providing practical tips. She will signpost effective community-based programmes that promote body positivity and an acceptance of diversity in appearance.

This free public event will take place at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, 16-18 Queen Square, Bath BA1 2HN from 6.30-8.30pm.

There is no need to register in advance and you can find further details on the event’s web page.
