Society Vice-President steps down

17 August 2017

The British Psychological Society (BPS) can confirm that Professor Peter Kinderman, the Vice-President of the Society, is stepping down from his roles both as Vice-President and Trustee of the BPS.

Following a recent meeting of the Board of Trustees, it has been mutually agreed that Professor Kinderman would be better able to pursue his own professional interests without the requirements of his trustee role.

Professor Kinderman served as BPS President for the 2016-17 period, becoming Vice-President of the Society when Nicola Gale took over as President in May this year.

He will remain a Member of the Society and continue to work with Society colleagues on a variety of professional matters.

Nicola Gale, President of the BPS, said:

“I would like to thank Professor Kinderman for his significant contribution as a former President of the Society and as a member of the Board of Trustees.

“I wish him well in his future professional endeavours.”
