Some common myths about screen time will be debunked at the Latitude Festival this summer.
In a session sponsored by our monthly magazine, The Psychologist, Professor Andrew Przybylski, director of research at the Oxford Internet Institute, will look at the science behind sensationalist headlines.
Among the myths he will tackle are that screen time is a coherent concept, is easily measured and causes problems.
This will be the fifth time that The Psychologist has appeared at Latitude.
The magazine’s editor, Dr Jon Sutton, says:
“Over the years, with the help of some remarkable speakers, we have covered subjects from the teenage brain to the psychology of crowds.
“Taking psychology to an arts festival is a great way of introducing a whole new audience to what it can offer.”
The Latitude Festival takes place in Henham Park, Suffolk, from 18-21 July.
