The nominations for the BPS award for Promoting Equality of Opportunity are now open.
Each year the society shows its commitment to making equality of opportunity a reality by honouring a psychologist who has made an exceptional contribution to challenging inequality.
This may relate to gender, race, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, disability or age.
You can find guidance on how to nominate someone and a list of past winners on this website. The closing date for nominations is 27 September 2019.
The winner for 2018 was Professor Malcolm MacLachlan, director of the Assisting Living and Learning Institute at Maynooth University in Ireland.
He was recognised for his work for the social inclusion of marginalised groups, specifically those on lower incomes, cultural and ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities.
