Introducing young people to the science of childhood and memory

The psychologists and schools taking part in the next two BPS-sponsored zones of 'I’m a Scientist, Get me out here!' have been announced.

I’m a Scientist is a public engagement even where school students get to meet and interact with scientists online. The two BPS-sponsored zones will run from 5 to 16 November.

In the Childhood zone, the psychologists taking part are:

  • Tom Gallagher-Mitchell - Lecturer, Liverpool Hope University
  • Sarah Hodge - Lecturer, Bournemouth University
  • Owen Jones - PhD Student, Liverpool John Moores University
  • Nathan Hook - Civil service campus in Bristol
  • Lorna Camus - PhD Student, Heriot-Watt University
  • Abbie Jordan - Lecturer, University of Bath

They will interact with sixth-form students from nine different school and colleges.

The psychologists taking part in the Memory zone are:

  • Warren Mansell - Lecturer, University of Manchester
  • Shanti Shanker - Lecturer, Bournemouth University
  • Pizza Chow - Postdoctoral, Hokkaido University (affiliated with the University of Exeter)
  • Paul Matusz - Junior Group Leader/ Lecturer, University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland
  • Nadine Mirza - PhD Student, The University of Manchester
  • Alex Reid - Lecturer, The University of York

They will be interacting with students from 11 schools and colleges across the country.
