The BPS is encouraging its members to take part in Department of Health and Social Care’s online survey on "The Review of the National Autism Strategy".
In April 2014 the government published ‘Think Autism’ a strategy for meeting the needs of autistic adults in England.
This year the Department of Health and Social Care, working with the Department for Education, will review the strategy and extend it to cover children as well as adults.
To help us to do this we want to hear first-hand from autistic people in England (adults, children and young people), their families and their carers about their experiences.
We are using the term ‘autism’ to refer to all categories of diagnoses on the autistic spectrum and welcome responses from people who identify with them, whether or not they have a medical diagnosis.
Please note: You are responding to the survey as individuals and NOT on behalf of the BPS.
To take part in the survey, please follow this link. The deadline for responding is Thursday the 16th of May.
The BPS will also be sending a written response to contribute to this inquiry but the survey is geared far more towards service users.
If you would like to contribute to the BPS’s response to the consultation, please send your comments to [email protected] by Friday 3rd May.
