Help us change how policy is made

11 December 2019

In January we are launching an initiative designed to establish the BPS as the primary voice of psychology in government.

Our Psychological Government programme will offer policymakers solutions that work, but it will do more than that.

Because we don’t just want to change policy, we want to change how policy is made.

If you are a psychologist who has worked in or with a government department we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for BPS members from both research and practice backgrounds to be part of the steering group that will make sure the programme has maximum impact.

We would also welcome applications from BAME and LGBT+ psychologists as they have been underrepresented on our working groups in the past.

You can read more about our ambitions for the programme in The Psychologist.

To apply, please send a statement (up to 500 words) of your knowledge and experience, along with examples of relevant research or professional practice, to George Wilkinson in the BPS policy team.

If you would like to know more about the Psychological Government programme before applying to join the group, please email Saskia Perriard-Abdoh to arrange a chat.

The closing date for applications is 30 January 2020.
