Guidance for Registered Psychologists in Making Applications to the BPS Approved Clinician Peer Review Panel

This guidance is for Applicants who wish to use the British Psychological Society Approved Clinician Peer Review Panel as part of a recommended governance procedure in preparing a submission to a Regional Panel for approval as an Approved Clinician.

This document serves to clarify and define the role of an Approved Clinician (AC) and the professional requirements necessary for approval as an AC in light of the provisions set out in The Mental Health Act 2007.

The information provided by this document should provide Applicants with a general guide to the approvals process, with particular emphasis on the identification, acquisition, and demonstration of the required competencies.
