The topics of the next two BPS-funded zones of I’m a Scientist, Get Me out of Here have been announced and we are looking for psychologists to take part in this innovative public engagement event.
I'm a Scientist is an online competition that gets people across the public, private and academic sectors of science interacting with school students. The students vote for their favourite psychologist in each zone and the winners gets £500 to fund their own public engagement activities.
From 4-15 March, running alongside British Science Week, the zones will cover relationships and perception. The event is open to all scientists, but Society members will be given priority in our zones.
Taking part is an enjoyable way of getting involved in psychology engagement and showing students what it is like to be a psychologist.
Dr Abbie Jordan, a Chartered Psychologist from the University of Bath, is a former I’m a Scientist winner. She said:
“I was blown away by the detailed questions about my work and the impact that it will have on the lives of young people and their families. These questions really made me think and that’s a great thing!”
