Briefing Paper: Resilience and Character

Supporting children to thrive and safeguarding their future is an important goal for any society and any government. This policy briefing sets out the latest psychological evidence on character and resilience to support the creation of more effective policies.

The attached briefing summarises recent work by the government (and other institutions) in this area, provides psycholgoical definitions of both "resilience" and "character" based upon consultation and evidence, and concludes by offering recommendations for best practice and future work in this area.
