BPS sponsors online public engagement in health and social psychology

23 May 2018

We are sponsoring two zones in next month’s I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here: the Society Zone and the Wellbeing Zone.

In both zones working scientists will interact online with interested school students, with the chance of winning £500 to help fund their own public engagement activities.

The Society Zone will look at the broad field covered by social psychology, while the Wellbeing Zone will have a particular emphasis on health psychology and behaviours that help or harm our health.

I’m a Scientist is a free online competition between scientists, where students are the judges. They question the scientists in fast, live online text-based chats.

Students can ask the scientists anything they want, and it is their votes that decide which scientist wins the zone.

We shall be announcing the names of the psychologists taking part in the two Society-sponsored zones shortly.
