Applications are being welcomed for NICE committee Chairs

15 May 2018

The National Guideline Alliance (NGA) is recruiting a number of Chairs for guideline committees on behalf of NICE.

Applicants will require a track record of chairing multi-professional committees or working groups at a national level, a commitment to evidence-based practice or medicine, and experience of guideline development processes.

Chairs will be allocated following their appointment, but NICE are expecting to start work on the following topics (although this is indicative and subject to change):

  • epilepsy in children
  • children and young people with disabilities and severe complex needs
  • gout
  • infant, children, and young people's experience of healthcare
  • social work interventions for adults with complex needs (including adults with learning disabilities) and mental health needs

Lisa Morrison Coulthard, Acting Director of Policy at the BPS, said:

"NICE guidelines are a vital way of ensuring that evidence-based psychology is incorporated into health and social care, and we would encourage Society members with the appropriate expertise to apply for these positions."

You can find out more about the roles and how to apply here - the closing date is noon on 21 May.
