Additional information

Hello and welcome to the first step in your healing journey! Is your child showing behavioural or emotional concerns? Are you a parent who wants to be more present with their child? Do you want to learn more about how to support and nuture your child? Do you want to provide the best emotional start for your child? My name is Samantha Leek and I am a therapuetic specialist in child/adolescent mental health with a primary focus on mild to moderate issues and difficulties. I can help your child with issues such as anger management, behavioural issues, separation anxiety, school attendance and achievement amongst many other difficulties. I can also offer online educational programmes for parents around child mental health and child development to develop your understanding and skillsets to help your child even further. How can I help you? I offer individual therapy sessions, working one to one with your child. I offer online, self-paced programmes as well as Zoom sessions for parents to upskill and advance their knowledge in child mental health and child development. I also offer life coaching to parents to help you overcome modern life's struggles such as 'feeling stuck-in-a-rut'. Therapy with me is vastly different; your child is placed in the driving seat. I believe that an individual already has the ability to heal and bounce back therefore, the focus needs to be on the lived experience of that individual. I ask the questions "What was it like for you?" "How did/do you feel about that?" "What is your goal for coming to therapy?". I am here to offer guidance and advice of my own; I am not here to tell your child what to do, but rather show what could be done. Therapy and the healing journey are unique; not everyone's experience of therapy is the same. There are some popular misconceptions about therapy such as: "you have to be crazy to have therapy" or "you have to suicidal" or "you have to have a diagnosis". I can assure you, all of these are untrue - therapy is about having someone walk alongside you in your healing journey, to pick you up when the going gets tough and to part with expert knowledge to help you continue to walk your journey. This is what I encourage your child to do. I appreciate that it can be very scary to go to therapy; I have no expectation that you, as the parent, will continue with therapy sessions after the free discussion. I am happy to provide advice on other services if I feel I may not be the right practitioner for your child. I am here to walk the journey with your child, and hopefully improve their understanding of themselves and be able to manage their emotions in a healthier way.
