Followed by discussion around how this could be implemented in Older Persons Services.  

Learning Outcomes

To provide an up to date overview of Trauma Informed Care in the UK and how this can be implemented in mental health services. Starting to develop a framework for implementing Trauma Informed Care Practices in Older Persons Services with consideration of the need to adapt to the needs of the OP population.

Angela Kennedy

Angela has worked in the NHS since 1990 and has specialised in working with Trauma  survivors with complex mental health needs e.g., psychosis and dissociation. She has in interest in compassion and leadership, and in systemic approaches to change. She is currently Head of Specialist Psychological Therapies at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Trust, as well as Chair of the National Community of Action for Trauma Informed Care and Mental Health Lead for the Northern England Clinical Network.
