How do we encourage organisations to take the actions needed to tackle climate change?
We will cover what the psychological issues are which prevent action as well as what the drivers are for pro-environmental behaviour through considering: - Moving from inaction to action - Obstacles to change - How psychology can help us to understand through looking at perception, values, norms, goal setting, decision making and engagement.
Understanding and appreciating some of these issues can help us to tackle the carbon emissions organisations generate through their activities, their energy use, their buildings, travel, consumption and investment. We are reaching a tipping point where action needs to be taken now. Organisations are part of the system that needs to be changed and need to take that responsibility for change. So what can we do to encourage and enable that?
