This event is open to all pre-qualified psychologists. The purpose of the day is to learn, explore and reflect on the work that Clinical Psychologists do within older adult's services. 

This is a day to hear about the different approaches used within older adult services; and an opportunity to extend your knowledge in the types of complexities and skills needed to work this client group. 

Speakers include: 

Dr Kathryn Dykes, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Accredited CAT Therapist, Bolton & Salford Older People' Mental Health and Dementia Services

Dr Rebecca Dow, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Buckinghamshire Older People's Psychological Services

Cath Burley, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Former Chair of the Faculty of the Psychology of Older People

Mark Guyers, Assistant Psychologist, Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust

Learning outcomes and objectives:

  • To learn about the achievements, challenges, complexities and rewards of working with older adults
  • To listen to experiences of prequalified psychologists working within older adults services
  • To network and meet other prequalified psychologists

The prequalification group aims to host CPD events which enrich the journey of prequalified individuals.
