An Introduction to Mental Capacity Assessments

This event will provide a useful introduction to mental capacity assessments in clinical settings and to best interest decision making.

The speakers will use case examples to explore the complex issues that can arise and updated BPS resources will be shared, together with signposting to other useful websites and documents.

The day will include a summary of the legal framework for DOLS, consent to sexual relations, and other key legal tests.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences with the panel at the end.
