Qualification in Forensic Psychology (Stage 2)Show content
The Qualification in Forensic Psychology (QFP) is often referred to as the ‘independent route’ to training as a forensic psychologist, in comparison to the traditional course route. It is a doctoral level qualification designed to enable candidates to train flexibly, within a structured and supportive framework. With the support of a Co-ordinating Supervisor, candidates construct their own plan of training around the units and competencies which form the QFP. Accreditation can be given for existing competences.
Successful completion of the QFP confers eligibility to apply for Chartered membership of the British Psychological Society and Full membership of the Division of Forensic Psychology. The QFP is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), meaning that successful completion also confers eligibility to apply to the HCPC for registration as a forensic psychologist.
