Mick Cooper is Professor of Counselling Psychology at the University of Roehampton, where he is Director of the Centre for Research in Social and psychological Transformation (CREST). Mick is a chartered psychologist, a UKCP-registered existential psychotherapist, and a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Mick is author and editor of a range of texts on person-centred, existential, and relational approaches to therapy; including Working at Relational Depth in Counselling and Psychotherapy (2nd ed., Sage, 2018, with Dave Mearns), Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy (Sage, 2011, with John McLeod), and Existential Therapies (2nd ed., Sage, 2017). Mick has led a series of research studies—both qualitative and quantitative—exploring the processes and outcomes of humanistic counselling with young people, and has published in a range of leading international psychotherapy journals. Mick’s latest book is Integrating Counselling and Psychotherapy: Directionality, Synergy, and Social Change (Sage, 2019). Mick is the father of four children and lives in Brighton on the south coast of England.
Dr Heather Sequeira
Dr Heather Sequeira C.Psychol. PhD. is founder and Director of PTSDTraumaWorkshops and developer of the PTSD Masterclass; an innovated BPS Approved Workshop for clinicians and therapists in PTSD. With extensive experience of trauma and fiercely non-pathologising in her approach, her mission is to to bring together meaningful, client-centred values with current research that is relevant to real world practice.
Heather has a solid background in Trauma related research, working as Senior Research Fellow, University of London (St Georges Medical School) for over 7 years prior to training as a Counselling Psychologist.
Heather is an executive committee member of the British Psychological Society Crisis, Disaster & Trauma BPS Section. She has regular input to British Psychological Society CPD, Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training programmes, CBT Diploma Courses and in previous years, to Counselling Psychology Training programmes.
Heather has current experience in NHS, in private practice and within organisational contexts and former editor of the British Psychological Society journal ‘Counselling Psychology Review’.

Faisal is a BACP registered accredited counsellor and UKCP registered individual and group Gestalt psychotherapist. Faisal works as a senior lecturer in counselling/psychotherapy at Newman University (Birmingham), where he heads two programmes: Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling (BACP accredited) and MSc Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Faisal has over 20 years of clinical experience working with clients in a range of settings. He has a small private practice based in Solihull, offering individual, couples and group therapy. He also provides individual and group supervision. Faisal also facilitates personal development groups and Gestalt therapy theory-based CPD events.
