ECP 2023 Undergraduate Research Prize
Applications for 2023 are now closed.
The Scientific Committee for the European Congress of Psychology 2023 are seeking up to three nominations from each EFPA member organisation for its award, recognising the best undergraduate research project.
The Scientific Committee are seeking up to three nominations from each EFPA member organisation for undergraduate research project.
The ECP 2023 Scientific Committee will decide upon one research project, which the author will be awarded with a funded place at the European Congress of Psychology 2023, held in Brighton on 03- 06 July 2023, where they will present their research project as part of proceedings.
Please note that each application should be submitted in English, as the presentation at ECP 2023 will be in English; however, the dissertation can be in its original language.

Eligibility
- The author of the research project must be from a country having an EFPA member association, even if they are not a member of that association
- The project author must have been a student at the time of submission/completion of the dissertation
- The research project must have been submitted as part of a first degree (undergraduate) in psychology
- The research project must have been graded within the last 6 months
Successful applicants
The winning undergraduate research project will be assessed against how well it meets the following criteria:
- Shows relevance to the theme of the European Congress of Psychology 2023 conference ‘Uniting communities for a sustainable world’.
- Completeness and clarity of abstract/dissertation.
- Creativity/innovativeness of project - this should include a declaration that the student played a major part in the design, data collection, and data analysis for the dissertation.
- Effectiveness of the research design, rigor of methods and statistical analyses.
- A desirable criterion would be that the submission shows appreciation of the principles of Open Science (e.g. preregistration, data uploads, etc.) for future work that builds on the research. This appreciation may be shown either in the dissertation itself or in supporting documentation submitted with the dissertation.

Application requirements
The application to the ECP2023 Scientific Committee will consist of the following fields:
- Name of EFPA member
- EFPA member contact details
- Name of author
- Author contact details
- Institution
- Supervisor
- Title
- Abstract (up to 500 words)
- Why dissertation was chosen for nomination (up to 300 words)
Each EFPA member association can decide on the process for submissions at a local level but these must be assessed against the criteria for the prize above.
