Early-Career Conference Bursary Scheme

Unfortunately, due to the continued uncertainty regarding the feasibility of face-to-face conferences and events over the next 6 months, we are temporarily withdrawing the scheme.

Once clearer information is available – we will re-advertise for grant applications.

Conference bursaries are available to support early-career psychologists in the UK to attend any academic conference, either in the UK or internationally, relevant to the applicants work.

Each bursary consists of up to £250 (UK) or £500 (international) to contribute towards the costs of registration and travel to attend the full conference.

All applicants must be members of the Society.

There are two rounds of the scheme each year:

  • The April round is open from 1 January and all applications must be received by 1 April

  • The October round is open from 1 July and all applications must be received by 1 October

Applicants may only submit one bursary application per round.

Further details, including the full criteria and a link to the new electronic application form, can be obtained from the Board Administrator once a particular round has opened.

Please note: for the purpose of the bursary scheme, an early-career psychologist is defined as a person who is employed in a UK HEI and is within eight years of the completion of their doctoral degree in psychology.
