Website Architecture and Redesign Project
28 Jan 10: Presentation to Trustees / information audit

The Trustees were really impressed by the project work at their briefing in January. They agreed that this a key project to help the Society meet its strategic aims to become the first-port-of-call for psychology, and disseminate good research and practice from our Member Networks to wider audiences.
A major audit of existing and future web content gets underway in February. This will help take us to the next stage of creating a map for the new site.
8 Jan 10: Website redesign project - results of feedback and online surveys
Thank you to everyone who took part in our consultation surveys and the focus groups run by the SIFT Group. Your input has been valuable and has produced many creative suggestions and ideas. With so many good ideas it’s not possible to include everything in the first phase of the redesign. However they will be useful in future development plans.
Mike Laffan, of the project team said: 'This project is a great opportunity for the Society. I'm really pleased that so many people have been able to get involved and give it so much time and energy'.
We are preparing a report with more detailed proposals. These include improving news and information, better online social network opportunities and making the site easier to navigate. The report will be considered by the Trustees later this spring.

9 Sept 09: Project Mission Statement and Objectives
Big changes are coming to the Society's website. A Project Team has been set up and a budget has been set aside to improve the site. Phase one of the project is about navigation and structure and aims to:
'Redesign the Society website to provide an engaging and easy to use mechanism for the delivery of information and services'.
What happens next?
We will be running an online consultation process from 21 September to 9 October to obtain feedback from individual
members, Divisions, Sections, Special Groups, Branches, non-Society
members, and members of staff.
The consultation will inform
the project business plan and the specifications when we invite
companies to pitch for the contract to redesign the site and provide
the website content management system.
We will keep you updated as the project progresses.
