A quick CPD update...
The Society's CPD monitoring processes have now been discontinued and the legislation necessary for the regulation of the profession is due to be tabled in the UK and Scottish parliaments after the Christmas recess. The opening of the Health Professions Council's Register for practitioner psychologists is expected to take place on 1 July 2009.
Practising certificates will be renewed in January and April 2009 upon payment of the fee (£16). It is not necessary to submit a CPD record to renew your practising certificate.
After the introduction of Statutory Regulation the Society will continue to retain the CPD Online System as an aid to planning and recording CPD and the Society strongly recommends that members continue to maintain an ongoing reflective record of their CPD. We will be launching a new version of the Online System in 2009 that will align more closely with the HPC requirements.
We will be writing to you in 2009 to explain these changes, in the meantime please contact the CPD Helpline if you have any queries or concerns.
