Are you studying psychology at University?

Do you want to stand out and be read about?


The BPS North West of England Branch is keen to support and encourage excellence in students of psychology. The Branch is therefore delighted to announce its new annual student writing competition, open to all undergraduates in the north west region on a BPS-accredited undergraduate psychology programme.

Reasons to write:

* Get your writing published in the BPS North West Branch newsletter, which is distributed to all BPS members in the region

* A great addition to your CV, demonstrating your writing skills

* Prizes for each year group category: £100 each

…So what are you waiting for?

We are looking for articles that provide insight into your experiences as a psychology student and/or what psychology means to you, or on a psychology topic that has special interest to you. The scope is broad (suggestions below for guidance only), with a limit of 1000-2000 words. Your article should be aimed toward a general psychology audience. We encourage submissions from all year groups, and you need not be a BPS member to apply.

Year one: You may write about your experience as a student, why you chose to study psychology or what you hope to achieve with it.

Year two: You may write about your progress and experiences since you commenced your degree or any topic of psychology that interests you.

Year three: You may write about the topic of your dissertation, or your experiences as a final year student.

Deadline for submission: 31st May 2008

Winners will be selected by a panel of the NW Branch Committee and will be notified shortly after the closing date
