Tributes to Professor Elizabeth Sykes
The Society is sad to announce that Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow Professor Elizabeth Sykes, of Middlesex University passed away on 4 September 2011.
Professor Sykes worked within the University’s School of Psychology from 1974 until 2001. She was Head of the School there from 1992 until 1997 and Professor Emeritus from 2001.
She was also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University College London’s (UCL) Department of Pharmacology from 1977 until 1979, and the UCL’s Department of Psychology from 1979 until 1992. She had been an Associate Fellow of the Society since 1988.
There will be a Memorial Service at St Pancras Church, Euston Road, NW1 at 12 noon on Saturday 4 February 2012. For further information please contact Professor Sykes' brother, Sir John Sykes via email.
