Students from Wales win Society award

Each year, the Society’s Welsh Branch awards a prize to students from Welsh universities which run Society accredited undergraduate degrees.

The first winners of 2012 have been announced. Final year students, Anastasia Wadden-Holmes and Carly Louise Edwards, both from Swansea University, were presented with the award for "achieving academic success whilst coping with additional significant demands during the course of their studies".

Winners of the award receive a commemorative certificate and prize money of £100. However, universities can choose to nominate two students for the prize, where the winners receive £50 each.

The Branch, which holds a student conference every year, also awards student bursaries and has a hardship fund. For further details visit the Branch’s Student Bursaries/Hardship Fund webpage.
