Society members named in Queen's Birthday Honours list

Two Society members have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, while another has been named in the Foreign and Commonwealth Honours list.

Melinda Edwards CPsychol is awarded an MBE or services to children with chronic and life-threatening medical conditions. 

Dr Anne Douglas CPsychol is awarded an OBE for services to the health of asylum seekers and refugees.

As previously reported, Professor Uta Frith CPsychol was named on the Foreign and Commonwealth Honours list. She is awarded an Honorary DBE for services to clinical science.

Speaking on behalf of the Society, Dr Peter Banister, Society President, said:  “I would like to offer our congratulations to Melinda Edwards, Anne Douglas and Uta Frith for these most deserved public honours. 

“I feel it is most important for the discipline that people like these are honoured in this way as it recognises our growing acceptance within the wider community.”

Anne Moore, an Educational Psychologist, was also named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. She is awarded an MBE for services to special needs education.
