First European psychology for health conference to take place in Brussels

The European Federation of Psychologists' Associations (EFPA) will hold its first health psychology conference from 20 until 21 September 2012 in Brussels, Belgium.

EFPA’s Conference Psychology for Health – Contributions to Policy Making aims to show how psychologists can promote healthy behaviour among European citizens.

It will highlight the role psychology can play in developing healthy life styles, the early discovery of health risks, and forms of prevention.

Speaking about the event, Professor Dr Robert Roe, President of EFPA, said: “This conference does not only express the commitment of Europe’s psychologists to the promotion of health in Europe, but also the support of EFPA for the EU’s health strategy and its readiness to assist in developing and implementing the third health programme.”

The event hopes to provide policy makers, psychologists and experts from other professions with the opportunity to share and better understand routes to healthy behaviour.

EFPA recommend early registration - before July 15 - as the conference is limited to 250 delegates.
